Who We Are
Two computer engineers who share a passion for sitting around a table with a board game, playing, having fun, and developing ever-improving tactics and strategies.
That's us in a nutshell.
The Origin Story
We met through code, but we bonded over cardboard. Board games is our shared obsession for years — not the kind you play on a console, and definitely not the kind that involves chips and a croupier. We're talking about the good stuff: strategy, cooperation, negotiation, bluffing, laughter, and the occasional heated debate about whether that move was really legal or was really the best.
The modern board game scene is a goldmine that most people haven't discovered yet. Sure, everyone knows Monopoly and Risk — but beyond those classics lies a universe of beautifully designed games that challenge your mind, bring people together, and create memories that no screen can quite replicate.
Why Meeplewise?
We asked ourselves a simple question: What if we used our software engineering skills to help promote board games more widely? What if we provided our own version of a system for quickly setting up a game and perhaps delving deeper into the strategies that could then be brought to a real tabletop?
The digital world is extraordinary at connecting people, removing barriers, and amplifying communities. We believe it can do the same for board gaming. Not to replace the physical experience — nothing beats the warmth of a game night with friends and family — but to complement it: to help players discover new games, explore strategies, and find opponents worthy of their tactical genius.
We know we're not the first to have this idea — and we say it with admiration. There are already remarkable platforms out there doing a fantastic job of bringing board games into the digital space. But we wanted to do it our way: with our own vision, our own taste, and the stubborn conviction that there's always room for one more seat at the table.
Meeplewise is our answer to that question.
What We Believe In
- Board games are one of the best social technologies ever invented
- The hobby has evolved enormously — and deserves a wider audience
- Digital tools should serve the game, not overshadow it
- A great game night is worth more than any algorithmic feed
- Meeples are, undeniably, adorable
Meeplewise started as a side project — the kind you hack together on weekends between one game session and the next. It has grown into something we're genuinely proud of, even if it's still very much a work in progress.
